Brothers and sisters, sometimes people can’t sleep just thinking about the problems they have. So today, I want to share these two encouraging ayaat that we can all benefit from:

🔵 Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala says: ❝(He is the) Lord of the east and the west. There is no god (worthy of worship) except Him, so take Him (alone) as a Trustee of Affairs.❞ [Al-Muzzammil 73 : 9]

What are our problems and where are our problems? What city? What country? Allah says that He is the Lord of the east and the west! After Allah mentions His infinite power, look at what Allah says at the end of this ayah: Trust Him! Trust that He will take care of us, no matter where our problems are.

🔵 Allah also says: ❝To Allah (only) belongs the knowledge of the unseen in the heavens and the earth. And to Him all matters are returned. So worship Him and put your trust in Him. And never is your Lord unaware of what you do.❞ [Hud 11 : 123]

Allah knows absolutely everything – what has happened, what is happening, what will happen in the future. He knows that particular leaf that is falling at this particular moment, at that particular location. He knows that particular ant that is scurrying right now in that particular vast desert. And He knows what and when exactly is best for us. And look again at what Allah says at the end of the ayah: Worship Him, and trust Him!

Trust Allah to ease our sadness, all of our concerns, all of our worries, and help our future. No matter where our problem is, know that Allah is the Lord of the East and the West. But we need to take all the necessary and permissible means as well – and this is how we properly depend on Allah.
