“And their Prophet said to them (Bani Israel): ‘Allah has appointed Taloot to be your king.’

They said: ‘How can he be our king, when some of us are more deserving of kingship than he, and he has not been blessed with vast riches?’

He said: ‘Verily, Allah has chosen him above you, and has increased him abundantly in knowledge and stature. And Allah grants His Kingdom to whom He wills. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower.’” [Surah Al-Baqarah 2: 247] .
After Prophet Musa ‘alayhis-salaam passed away, Bani Israel were oppressed by an extremely strong group of army led by Jaloot. Jaloot and his men were physically huge, and skilled in war tactics, who showed zero mercy to their enemies. So the chiefs of Bani Israel went to speak to their Prophet, requesting for Allah to appoint them a king, who can lead them to fight Jaloot and his men.
.
During that time, there was a man amongst Bani Israel whose name was Taloot. He was honorable, and blessed by Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala with both incredible intelligence and strength.
.
But when their Prophet said that it was Taloot who was chosen by Allah to be their king, Bani Israel got upset! They argued: Why Taloot? Why a commoner? Taloot is not rich, nor an elite. He is not a descendant from the lineage of kings like us!

Look how they disrespected Allah, as well as His Prophet.
.
Brothers and sisters, just as Allah chose Taloot and blessed him with abundant knowledge and strength, Allah chose some people and gave them beautiful voices.

Allah chose some and blessed them with a rich family.

Allah chose some and gave them strength.

Allah chose some and gave them supreme intellect.
.
Don’t be envious of one another. Don’t say why can’t Allah give me those? Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “Allah tests His servant by giving to him. Whoever is content with what Allah has apportioned for him, Allah will bless him in it and expand it. Whoever is not content, he will not be blessed in it.” [Musnad Ahmad 20279 | Graded Sahih by Al-Albani] .
If you are content with what Allah has given you, you will be the richest person.
