Brothers & sisters, shaytan does not show mercy even to children, and this is enough to show how evil shaytan is.

🔵 Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “There is none born among the offspring of Adam, but shaytan touches (i.e. pricks / pokes) it. A child therefore cries loudly at the time of birth because of the touch of shaytan, except Maryam and her child.” [Sahih Al-Bukhari 3431]
Shaytan tries to harm even a newborn baby! Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala says in the Qur’an that shaytan will try to manipulate us in our wealth and children (refer Surah Al-Isra’ 17 : 64) – starting with what name to give to the baby, or the type of education to provide for him/her & so on. Shaytan will try to influence every decision in favour of making the child deviate away from his/her fitrah.

I remember talking to a friend in regard to having his children attend an excellent Islamic school & his only excuse was that it was too expensive. But within a few weeks, he upgraded his car which he paid in full. It was an amount enough to pay years’ worth of tuition. I asked him about it & he said it was such a good deal that he couldn’t miss out on. May Allah bless him & his children, but the lesson here is to be aware of the tricks of shaytan.

🔵 Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala says: “O believers! Protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, overseen by formidable and severe angels, who never disobey whatever Allah orders—always doing as commanded.” [At-Tahrim 66 : 6]
It is our responsibility as parents or guardians to protect our families from the Hellfire. Our job is to do whatever we possibly can to help protect our children from falling into kufr, and it starts with making du’a to Allah.

🔵 Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to make the following du’a for his grandchildren, Al-Hasan and Al-Hussein may Allah be pleased by both of them: “I seek refuge with Your Perfect Words, from every shaytan and anything poisonous, and from every envious and evil eye.” [Sahih Al-Bukhari 3371]

May Allah protect us and our children from shaytan and all types of evil, ameen.
