Imagine for a moment that we have a job where our wage is $10 per hour.
But then we found out there is another job offer where the minimum wage is ten times more than that, up to SEVEN HUNDRED TIMES! So now we’re going to earn $7000 per hour! Isn’t that amazing! Won’t we be rushing towards this offer in an instant?
Allah subhana wa ta’ala offers us so much more than that – and to Allah belongs the highest example! Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“Every deed of the son of Adam is multiplied from ten to seven hundred times. Allah the Exalted says: Except for fasting, for it is done for my sake and I will reward it.” [Sahih Muslim 1151]
These multiplications of ten up to seven hundred times DO NOT APPLY for fasting! It is a number that no one, not even the angels, can ever comprehend. No one can understand the multiplications of the reward for fasting, because Allah subhana wa ta’ala said that He will reward it Himself!

Here’s another offer that Allah gives us only in Ramadan. Allah says: “Laylatul-Qadr is better than a thousand months.” [Surah Al-Qadr 97 : 3]
He subhana wa ta’ala did not say Laylatul-Qadr is EQUAL to a thousand months, but BETTER than a thousand months – meaning only Allah knows the limit. So 1 single night of Laylatul-Qadr in which we worship Allah, is MORE than 83 years of worship! If Allah has enabled us to catch Laylatul-Qadr for two years, then that’s more than 166 years of worship! So what if we witness Laylatul-Qadr in every month of Ramadan, of every year throughout our lives? May Allah subhana wa ta’ala allow us to witness Laylatul-Qadr in every year, ameen!
Allah offers us so much of unimaginable multiplications of reward in Ramadan, so do not waste these opportunities! May Allah make us among those who appreciate fasting and help us to utilize our time in Ramadan in the best of ways that are pleasing to Him, ameen.
