Alhamdulillah we are coming close to the blessed month of Ramadan, in which Allah subhana wa ta’ala offers so much of His Forgiveness and His Blessings. I will mention 6 of those offers:
1️⃣ Allah offers to forgive all our past sins. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said in three separate ahadith, that whoever:
(1) “Fasts in the month of Ramadan,
(2) Pray qiyamul-layl in Ramadan (and the period for qiyamul-layl is after Isha until before Fajr),
(3) Pray on the night of Laylatul-Qadr,
with sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven.” These three ahadith are mentioned in Sahih Al-Bukhari.
2️⃣ Allah offers to free the necks of His servants from the Hellfire. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“On the first night of the month of Ramadan, the Shayatin are shackled, the jinns are restrained, the gates of the Fires are shut such that no gate among them would be opened. The gates of Paradise are opened such that no gate among them would be closed, and a caller calls: ‘O seeker of the good; come near!’ and ‘O seeker of evil; stop! For there are those whom Allah frees from the Fire.’ And that is every night.” [At-Tirmidhi]
3️⃣ Allah offers a timeframe where He will accept our du’a with zero rejection. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “Verily, the supplication of a fasting person is not turned away at the time of breaking fast.” [Sahih Ibn Majah]
4️⃣ Allah offers to multiply our reward, even way beyond the angels’ imagination! Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that Allah said: “Every good deed of the son of Adam is for him, except fasting – it is for Me, and I shall reward (the fasting person) for it.” [Sahih Al-Bukhari]
5️⃣ Allah offers us the reward of one night that is equivalent to a thousand months, because He says: “Laylatul-Qadr is better than a thousand months.” [Surah Al-Qadr 97 : 3]
6️⃣ Allah shows His Appreciation to us for fasting. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “The smell coming out from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than the smell of musk.” [Sahih Al-Bukhari]
May Allah make us among those who reach Ramadan, and fully utilize this blessed month seeking His Pleasure to the best of our capabilities. Allahumma ameen!
