Allah promises to make the ones who fast, happy. Yes, it’s true!
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “There are two moments of happiness for the fasting person: a happy moment when he breaks his fast, and a happy moment the day he meets his Lord.” [At-Tirmidhi]
We all know that happy, joyful feeling when we break our fast, when we look forward to having a good meal after a long day of fasting – that’s one of the joys.
The second moment of happiness is the day when we meet Allah subhana wa ta’ala. We might be wondering, what is going to happen when we meet Allah! It’s not mentioned in the hadith – but it’s going to be an amazing experience because Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said so!
Consider also this hadith, where he ﷺ said: “There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Raiyan, and those who observe fasts will enter through it on the Day of Resurrection and none except them will enter through it. It will be said: ‘Where are those who used to observe fasts?’ They will get up, and none except them will enter through it. After their entry, the gate will be closed and nobody will enter through it.” [Sahih Al-Bukhari 1896]
And the hadith stops here.
But what’s in there! What’s waiting for them!
It’s a surprise!
There is an unknown joy and extreme happiness behind that door and when we finally meet Allah subhana wa ta’ala. Ya Allah, make us among these people, ameen!
