Brothers and sisters, reflect on this beautiful ayah where Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala says:
وَتَوَڪَّلۡ عَلَى ٱلۡحَىِّ ٱلَّذِى لَا يَمُوتُ
🔵 ❝And trust the One Who is Ever-Living, the One Who will never die.❞ [Al-Furqan 25:58]
.
This ayah is so powerful, especially for the parents. We’re always worried about our children, especially their future after we’ve passed away: “The fitnah in this dunya continues to worsen, ya Allah, what’s going to happen to my kids when I’m gone? Who’s going to take care of them? What’s going to happen to their iman?” And so many other questions and worries.
.
Allah says we will die, but Allah will never die. So put our trust on Him, the One Who is Ever-Living. Allah will take care of us, and our children in shaa Allah. What’s the proof? Reflect on the amazing story mentioned in surah Al-Kahf, about the 2 orphans:
.
🔵 ❝Then they both proceeded, until when they came to the people of a town, they asked them for food, but they refused to entertain them. Then they found therein a wall about to collapse, and he (Khidr) set it up straight…❞ [Al-Kahf 18:77]
.
🔵 ❝And as for the wall, it belonged to 2 orphan boys in the town; and there was under it a treasure belonging to them; and their father was a righteous man, and your Lord intended that they should attain their age of full strength and take out their treasure as a mercy from your Lord…❞ [Al-Kahf 18:82]
.
To summarize, Khidr found a treasure that was hidden behind a wall, belonging to the 2 orphans whose father passed away. The two orphans lived in a town where the people were stingy. If the people knew about the treasure, they would have taken the treasure for themselves. Thus Allah delayed the sustenance until the 2 orphans became older and strong.
.
The question now is: Why did Allah protect the two orphans for all those decades? Because their father was a righteous man, and because of the barakah of his righteousness in the Sight of Allah, Allah protected him and his children, even after he passed away.
.
So brothers and sisters, remember that Allah is Ever-Living, Therefore put our trust on the One Who will never die.
