Many years ago, a respected sister came to a person of knowledge, and she said: I do not want my husband any more. How can I divorce him properly according to the shari’ah?
When the person of knowledge asked why, so that he could advise her accordingly, she said: He had such a bad smell. I cannot stand his horrible smell.

Know that as Muslims, we should not push people away from us, especially when it comes to family. Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, who was the greatest scholar of the Qur’an, would often groom himself, make himself look presentable before he ENTERED his house. He said:
🔵 “Indeed, I like to look good for my wife, just as I like for her to look good for me, because Allah says: Women have rights similar to those of men, equitably. (Q2:228)” [Al-Sunan Al-Kubra 14264]
.
Check out also this simple yet amazing hadith. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
السِّوَاكُ مَطْهَرَةٌ لِلْفَمِ مَرْضَاةٌ لِلرَّبِّ
🔵 “Siwak (i.e. brushing the teeth) is a means of purification for the mouth, and is pleasing to the Lord.” [Sahih An-Nasa’i 5]
So when you brush your teeth, seek the pleasure of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala. Never forget that the greatest reward a human can ever achieve is the pleasure of Allah.
.
Take care not just of our appearance, but of our smell and body odour as well. These matters may seem insignificant in the eyes of people, but they are not small matters in this Deen, because Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
🔵 “Cleanliness is half of faith.” [Sahih Muslim 223]
