“Why hasn’t the victory for the believers come?”
“Why are our supplications not yet granted by Allah?”

Have these thoughts ever crossed your mind?

Brothers and sisters, look at the past and learn the methodology of Allah in this world. Look at the life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The non-believers tried very hard to negotiate with the Prophet so that he ﷺ would let go of his faith. They went to his uncle, Abu Talib, telling him to stop his nephew from conveying Islam. They tried to bribe him ﷺ with wealth and fame. They tried to negotiate for the Prophet ﷺ to compromise by alternating worship towards Allah one day, and towards their idols on another day. But Prophet Muhammad ﷺ remained steadfast. When none of those worked, what did they resort to? Punishment, torture, persecution.

One of the companions, Khabbab bin Al-Arat, may Allah be pleased with him, said that they complained to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ about all these persecutions that they had to endure. They asked: “Would you seek help for us? Would you pray to Allah for us?”

At the end of this hadith, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “By Allah, this religion (i.e. Islam) will prevail, so much so that a traveler from Sana (in Yemen) to Hadrarmaut will fear no one but Allah, or a wolf as regards his sheep, but you (people) are hasty.” [Sahih Al-Bukhari 3612]

The Prophet ﷺ said this when the Muslims were still being horribly tortured and persecuted! It was a very weak point for the Muslims in Makkah, but he ﷺ said this with confidence! Why? Because he ﷺ knew that the victory of Allah will come.

Islam WILL prevail. The truth will take over. Oppression will be gone. The oppressed will get their rights back. The oppressors will be held accountable. But we first need to be real, true believing men and women, who are steadfast in this religion. Rectify ourselves and don’t be hasty o brothers and sisters in Islam!

“Do you think you will be admitted into Paradise without being tested like those before you? They were afflicted with suffering and adversity and were so shaken that (even) the Messenger and the believers with him cried out: ‘When will Allah’s help come?’ Indeed, Allah’s help is near!” [Al-Baqarah 2: 214]
